Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking or using any pest control services provided by Star Pest Control (“we,” “our,” or “us”), a licensed and insured pest control company based in Holland Landing, Ontario. By requesting a quote, booking a service, or allowing our technicians onto your property, you agree to these terms.
1. Our Services
Star Pest Control provides residential and commercial pest control, wildlife relocation, and ongoing pest management services throughout York Region and the Greater Toronto Area. Services are performed by licensed, trained, and insured technicians using eco-friendly, provincially approved products and methods.
All services are subject to a prior assessment or inspection. We reserve the right to decline a service request if safe or effective treatment is not possible under the conditions present.
2. Quotes and Pricing
- All quotes are provided free of charge following an inspection or assessment of the pest issue.
- Quoted prices are fixed — we will not charge more than the agreed amount for the scope of work described in the quote, unless the scope materially changes.
- Pricing is not based on time, distance, number of visits, or pest size.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
3. Bookings and Appointments
- Appointments are confirmed by phone or email. We ask that someone 18 years of age or older be present at the property during the service visit.
- If you need to reschedule or cancel, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in a cancellation fee.
- We will make every reasonable effort to honour scheduled appointment times. Factors outside our control (weather, traffic, prior job overruns) may occasionally cause delays; we will notify you as soon as possible in such cases.
4. Access to Your Property
By booking a service, you grant our licensed technicians the right to access the agreed areas of your property for the purpose of inspection, treatment, and follow-up visits included in your service plan. You are responsible for:
- Ensuring safe and unobstructed access to the areas requiring treatment
- Informing us of any known hazards on the property prior to the visit
- Following any pre-treatment preparation instructions provided by our technician
- Keeping children and pets away from treated areas for the time period specified by your technician
5. Products and Safety
We use only eco-friendly, Health Canada–registered pest control products that are safe for use in residential and commercial environments when applied according to label directions. Our technicians are certified in the safe handling and application of all products used.
If you or any occupant of the property has known allergies, sensitivities, or health conditions that may be affected by pest control treatments, please inform us before the service visit. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
6. Our Guarantee
We stand behind our work. If a pest issue covered under your service agreement persists or returns within the warranty period specified in your quote, we will return to retreat at no additional charge. This guarantee applies to:
- The specific pest species and infestation described in the original service agreement
- Properties where post-treatment instructions have been followed
- Services where access conditions were adequate for effective treatment
This guarantee does not cover new or unrelated infestations, recurring issues caused by structural conditions not addressed after our recommendations, or negligence on the part of the property owner to follow up according to recommendations.
7. Payment
- Payment is due upon completion of service unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing in advance.
- We accept payment by cash, cheque, e-transfer, and major credit cards.
- Overdue balances may be subject to a late fee of 2% per month (24% per annum).
- HST (13%) is applicable to all services as required by Ontario law.
8. Limitation of Liability
Star Pest Control carries full liability insurance. In the event of damage caused directly and demonstrably by our technicians during a service visit, please notify us within 48 hours so we can investigate and respond appropriately.
Our liability is limited to the value of the service performed. We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing property damage or structural conditions
- Damage caused by failure to follow post-treatment instructions
- Infestations arising after the service warranty period
- Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages of any kind
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and layout — is the property of Star Pest Control and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without our written permission.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these terms or from services provided shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. Continued use of our services after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
